The boxer has been indicating that he is ready for this new challenge and hopes that he will come out of this fight without any problems and then he wants to focus his efforts on getting the coveted title shot at 122 pounds against WBO super bantamweight king Jorge 'Travieso' Arce.
"We are ready for anyone. If we are ready for the world title, we are for this kind of opponent. I will not skimp or disparage any boxer. Those are the mistakes that are made often. Everyone has two hands and you have to make a good fight. I want to fight for the world title. I would love to fight Arce," Oquendo said.
Oquendo is coached by Dennis Pantojas and belongs to the block headed by former WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez.
