Gaby Penagaricano, the legal adviser to junior middleweight prospect Jonathan Gonzalez (17-0-1, 14KOs), tells BoxingScene.com that his fighter will return to action on February 7th at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. The fight will be televised as part of ESPN's Friday Night Fights series. Gonzalez will either be involved in the main event or the co-featured attraction. No opponent has been set.
Gonzalez, 24-years-old, fought at the same venue on December 6th, and stopped Jaison Palomeque in five rounds. He also cleared up his promotional situation, where the boxer broke ties with Gary Shaw and Puerto Rico's Universal Promotions, and is now solely promoted by Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing.
