BoxingScene.com has been advised that another chapter in the Mexico versus Puerto Rico rivalry is being negotiated for August 17th. The plan is for former two-division champion Giovani "El Guerrero Azteca" Segura (29-3-1) to face undefeated Boricua Jonathan "La Bomba" Gonzalez (13-0).

The 22-year-old Gonzalez has already fought 3 times in 2013 and would be taking a big step up in class if the fight is finalized.  Segura last fought in May when he lost an unanimous decision to Edgar Sosa and has lost 2 of his last 3 fights.

If the fight comes to fruition it will take place on Gonzalez's home turf. Segura is no stranger to fighting on the island as he knocked Ivan Calderon out in Guaynabo in 2010.
