Undefeated 115-pound prospect, Jonathan "Bomba" Gonzalez (10-0, 9 KO's) has issued a challenge to the former 108-pound champion of the WBO, Mexico's Giovanni Segura (28-2-1, 24 KO's ), who was last seen in the ring in December 2011, when he was stopped in eight rounds by WBO flyweight champion Brian Viloria.

"I want to fight [him in] January because I think I'm ready to fight at the level of a champion. And I think I can knock him out in less than six rounds. He beat [Ivan] Calderon dramatically because Ivan was outside of his weight [division] and age affected him. I'm young and I have prepared for bigger challenges," he said.

He's willing to do the fight in Las Vegas, New York or Puerto Rico.

"My confidence is the work I do in my workouts and I know I have ability and intelligence to knock him out. I have a good shot. The fight could be held in one of those places. I know that I can win and I can stand with him to trade punches," Gonzalez said.
