WBA "regular" featherweight champion, Jonathan Victor Barros (31-1, 18KOs), wants the biggest fights possible at his weight. He will make an option defense on February 19 at the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama against Mexican contender Marco López (18-0, 10 KOs). He would like to get a big fight in the summer, whether it's WBO champion Juan Manuel Lopez, WBA/IBF champion Yuriorkis Gamboa or former champ Celestino Caballero.
Barros lost a twelve round decision to Gamboa last March in Germany. The WBA made Caballero the mandatory challenger to Barros' title. The champion won't have any trouble getting that fight because Caballero has been pushing for his title opportunity.
"My dream is to fight Yuriorkis Gamboa, Juan Manuel López and Celestino Caballero," said the champion.
