The trilogy meeting between Glen Johnson and IBF light heavyweight champion Clinton Woods is heating up. Several weeks ago, Woods told the media in England that he is planning to knock Johnson out. After hearing the comments, Johnson tells media outlet CMC that he is now planning to badly punish the champion.

"I fought the guy two times and he never came close to ever knocking me out. I am really going to punish this guy," Johnson said. "I am going to punish him and I am going to take pleasure in it."

The first bout in November 2003, ended in a draw, a few months later Johnson won a clear decision. This time Johnson is looking to stop Woods, and claims the champion's recent comments are a newfound inspiration to complete his mission.

"Clinton has given me the inspiration because he is saying he is going to knock me out," Johnson.

The bout takes place on September 2 at the Reebok Centre in Lancashire, England, and that is another reason Johnson does not want the fight to go the distance. He does not want to leave the verdict in the hands of the judges, and chance losing by way of hometown decision.

"I am always going to be wary about the (score) cards, I am all too familiar with that. I will try to end the night in a knockout," Johnson said.
