John Thain has signed a managerial deal with MGM.
The 28-year-old (13-2, 1 KO) was named as the latest signing to the ever-growing Matthew Macklin-fronted team on Friday.
"I'm honoured to be joining Team MGM,” said the Edinburgh man.
Thain, a super welterweight who has two wins since losing two on the trot at the hands of Ronnie Heffron and Kris Carslaw in 2014, will add to the Scottish contingent already in the MGM ranks.
He will join the likes of Stephen Simmons, David Brophy and Iain Butcher, who –– like Thain –– have been showcased on MGM Scotland shows in recent times, at the Puerto Banus base.
“I have been over in Marbella a few times, training with the lads,” he continued, “and they [MGM] have always treated me like their own.
“The facilities are top class and I can't wait to get started, this has been a fantastic start to the year for me.”
The management team at MGM are delighted with their latest capture, saying: “We are delighted to sign John, [who is] a great pro and a fantastic talent.”
A date for Thain’s next fight –– and his first under the MGM Marbella banner –– will be revealed in due course.
It was also confirmed recently that MGM had added Tyrone McKenna to their roster.
The talented Belfast-based southpaw, 25, has an undefeated record of 9-0 (3 KOs) and will make his debut under his new management team on February 5 at the Roadstone Club in Clondalkin, Dublin.
