John Quigley will return to the ring in the near future after signing a new managerial deal.
The Liverpool super-featherweight, who has an unblemished record of 13-0 (2 KOs), has joined the MGM Marbella roster.
Quigley, 26, has been inactive since July, 2014 when he outpointed Ian Bailey over eight rounds at the ECHO Arena as part of a Matchroom undercard.
But having notched just two wins after returning from a successful spell in the States, Quigley sees his move to the Spanish-based company as a step in the right direction.
“They are taking over,” Quigley said. “MGM are the best management team in boxing, in my opinion, and there was nobody else I’d rather sign for.”
Quigley was formerly managed and promoted by Steve Wood, the VIP Promotions boss, but the news of his move to Puerto Banus was let out on social media on Tuesday.
It has also been revealed that Quigley has joined the Everton Red Triangle gym in his home city and he will now be training alongside former European champions Ryan Farrag and Kevin Satchell as well as British super-bantamweight titlist and future world title challenger Jazza Dickens.
“The plan is,” Quigley continued, “give me two fights to get the ring rust off and then I’ll fight anybody.
“I’m totally confident in my own ability [and I believe] that I’ll beat anyone.”
The management team at MGM are delighted with their latest recruit.
They said: “He was a top quality amateur and has made a terrific start to his professional career.
“We look forward to helping him fulfil the potential that he undoubtedly has.”
Details of Quigley’s MGM debut, which will also be his first fight under the tutelage of Paul and Mick Stevenson at Everton Red Triangle, will be revealed in due course.
