According to Linc Boxing, John Murray appears to have split with trainer Joe Gallagher for a second time just days after his showdown with European and British lightweight champion Gavin Rees was announced.
The Mancunian, who has won 31 of his 33 contests, will return to the ring against Rees at London's Olympia on December 8 in his first fight since he was stopped in 11 rounds by WBA champion Brandon Rios 12 months ago.
Murray previously ended his 12-year association with Gallagher last September in the wake of his first professional defeat to Kevin Mitchell, only to reunite a few months later for his failed world title attempt against Rios.
"John Murray just hasn't turned up in the gym," Gallagher told Lincboxing. "From what I gather he is training but not with me. I haven't seen or heard from his since the fight with Gavin Rees was announced. The last thing he said was he didn't want to fight Rees. He wanted the winner of Ricky Burns and Kevin Mitchell. But now he seems to have gone the other way and accepted the fight with Gavin. I don't know what's going on."
