According to the Belfast Telegraph, talks are ongoing for a possible all-Irish clash between John Duddy and Neil Sinclair. There are several issues that have to be worked out. Duddy returns to the ring in January and wants to come back in March or April. Sinclair is a junior middleweight. Duddy’s manager Craig Hamilton says the fight would have to take place at middleweight or a catch-weight close to it. Sinclair's promoter Frank Warren will not get in the way of the fight.

Hamilton wants to see some decent terms before he even considers the fight. An offer had been made in the past. Hamilton felt it was very low.

“I would be interested in doing the fight if we get a real date and real money. The money we were offered the last time made no sense. I’m ready to listen to Frank Warren, it just has to make sense for John. Of course John would love to fight in Ireland and if all goes to plan next month then he should be out again in March or April. John’s 31 now so there’s no point him trying to boil down to 154lbs. It would have to be around the 160lb mark," Hamilton said.

Duddy was being groomed for a showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. That fight is up in the air with Chavez facing a possible suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a failed drug test.
