Trainer Joel Diaz will be a busy man on the night of December 13th in Las Vegas, where both Top Rank and Golden Boy are staging cards on the strip. Diaz trains both Tim Bradley and Victor Ortiz who are scheduled to be on those shows which created a bit of a logistical problem for Diaz.
Eventually, that was rectified.
"It's just a matter of organizing my team, organizing my schedule,"said the noted cornerman, who explained,"When I got a call from Sam Watson and he put Al Haymon on the line, he told me,'I know your priority is Tim Bradley, I'd like to have Victor fight on that card on the same day at the MGM (Grand), what would it take for it to happen and it could work?'
"I said,'Well, if you give me enough time it will happen.' He said, 'Well, is it OK if we can have Victor fight between five and six o'clock on a Showtime Extreme event and that will give you plenty of time, that will give you two to three hours to get back to Bradley.' I said that would work."
On the night that Showtime has a card featuring the welterweight clash between Amir Khan and Devon Alexander, HBO's broadcast which features Bradley's bout against Diego Chaves, as part of a triple-header from the Cosmopolitan is slated to start at 7 p.m locally.
