A majority draw was an apt verdict for the main event of the latest Savarese Boxing Promotions card at the Houston Fencing Athletic Center between Joel Baglio, 9-0-1 (6 KOs), and Adam Ealoms, 3-1-3 (1 KO). Throughout the six-round bout, both welterweight southpaws traded punches to the head and body on even terms whether they fought from a distance or in the trenches. The scores were 58-56 for Baglio and 57-57 twice.
Isaac Teran, a 36-year-old heavyweight who only began boxing six months ago, made an electrifying debut by knocking Cody Boutte out cold with a battering ram right hand in just 29 seconds of the first round. Boutte, 0-1, lay unconscious on the apron of the ring for several minutes.
Also making his pro debut, Muay Thai exponent Chase Corley did not need his kicks to knock southpaw Germain Carson, 0-3, out with a straight right-left hook-right uppercut combination at 2:29 of the first round of a middleweight bout. In yet another successful pro debut, super middleweight Gianni Giambi dropped southpaw Noel Sandobal, 0-1, for the full count with a straight right to the jaw in the first round.
Lightweight Ivan Otero, 9-2 (2 KOs) scored a four-round shutout over Aaron Anderson, 2-17 (1 KO). Southpaw Thomas Hawkins, 3-0, defeated Ricardo Ramirez, 1-1, via four-round majority decision. Featherweight Ricardo Valencia, 2-3-1, won a four-round unanimous decision against Rogelio Moreno, 0-1.
