Joe Selkirk has been forced out of his next fight.
The talented Liverpool super welterweight had been preparing for a 10-round title fight next month before suffering an alleged knee injury.
Selkirk, 30, was set to put his undefeated ledger (14-0, 8 KOs) on the line against fellow unbeaten man Gary Corcoran (14-0, 6 KOs), who is 25, at Dublin’s National Stadium on February 6, exclusively live on BoxNation, with the vacant WBO Inter-Continental title on the line.
But it has since emerged that Selkirk, who has long been described as one of the brightest talents to come out of Liverpool, has withdrawn due to the injury.
Boxing Scene understands that Corcoran will still fight for the title on the same card, in the top-of-the-bill clash, against an opponent to be named, with further details to be revealed in due course.
