Joe Cordina made a blistering start to his professional career.

The Welshman, 25, got rid of José Aguilar in double-quick time, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

Cordina established his jab early and looked well-suited to the paid code from the early stages, unleashing flashy combinations in his gold and black sparkly shorts on which the Welsh flag was emblazoned on the left side.

The assault continued throughout proceedings, with referee Lee Innes beginning to have a look at the Nicaraguan’s state after a sustained onslaught of softening body shots.

‘Welsh Wizard’ Cordina began almost flawlessly, as part of the undercard to Martin Murray’s mouthwatering middleweight matchup against Gabriel Rosado for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental title.

And after the third man in the ring called time on the one-sided, dominant action after 46 seconds of the fourth and final round, it was confirmed that Cordina will appear on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s world heavyweight title showdown against Wladimir Klitschko next Saturday (April 29), exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, in front of 90,000 spectators at Wembley Stadium.

As it stands, Cordina is set to face Liverpool’s Jay Carney, but that’s dependent on him seeing the final bell against Feargal McCrory in Belfast later on Saturday as the pair clash for the vacant International Challenge super-featherweight title.
