Following his split decision win over Ali Funeka at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, former champion Joan Guzman spoke with BoxingScene.com. The fighter told us he was immediately moving up to 140-pounds, and he wants a fight with WBA-interim champion Marcos Maidana, who defended his title in the main event with a knockout of undefeated Victor Cayo.
Guzman told us he was impressed with Maidana's performance. He promised to create fireworks in the ring if the fight is ever made. Guzman wants the chance to avenge his countryman, Cayo.
