BoxingScene.com has been advised that former junior middleweight champion Joachim Alcine (33-2-1, 19KOs) is interested in facing Paul Williams (41-2, 27KOs) in his next fight.
Williams is rumored to have a June 30th Showtime date reserved up and was looking to face James Kirkland before Kirkland had surgery on his shoulder that was injured in his disqualification victory over Carlos Molina on March 24th.
As BoxingScene earlier reported, negotiations are ongoing to match Alcine against unbeaten prospect Kevin Bizier on the Tavoris Cloud versus Jean Pascal undercard. Alcine is willing to face Williams at any weight between 147 and 160.
