Jhonny Gonzalez Working His Way Back To a Shot

Jhonny Gonzalez (39-6, 33KOs) is on the verge of a potential title shot in 2009. Gonzalez has a return fight scheduled for November 21 in California before moving on to a clash with WBC interim-super bantamweight champion Toshiaki Nishioka (32-4, 19KOs) of Japan.

According to ESTO, Golden Boy Promotions would like to place Gonzalez in against Nishioka by February/March of next year. Gonzalez has won four in a row since being stopped by Gerry Penalosa last August.
