Former WBO bantamweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez finished up his training camp with new trainer Nacho Beristain. He faces Antonio Davis in Cancun, Mexico on March 20 in a WBC mandatory eliminator. The winner will get a shot at featherweight champion Elio Rojas. Gonzalez has had a career of ups and downs. He wants to pull off the big win over Davis to get Rojas in the ring.

"I had a great camp for several weeks, and I am ready to step into the ring. I have no trouble getting down to featherweight, and I know what kind of opponent Davis will be. I'm confident of getting the victory," Gonzalez said to ESTO.

Gonzalez said the camp with Nacho was great. The famed trainer helped him with several flaws in his style. He plans to box Davis from the outside.

"I understand that Davis likes to go forward and starts fast. It's a style I favor. I prefer to go against a fighter who attacks, rather than fighting someone who doesn't," Gonzalez said.
