WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (49-7, 43KOs) is looking for an impressive performacen in his next title defense, on September 15th against Roinet Caballero. The card is going to happen in California. Gonzalez wants bigger fights, and bigger names, in the next couple of months.
"We are working hard in the gym to continue being the world champion. I want to be a champion for a long time and I have to work to the fullest in every workout," said Gonzalez. "I will come in like a champion, with pride and the warrior's heart to beat Caballero.
After Caballero, Gonzalez wants Yuriorkis Gamboa or Juan Manuel Lopez. Gonzalez wanted to fight Gamboa in September, but wasn't happy with the difference in money between the two fighters, stating - "he [was getting] more money when I'm the king and not him."
