It was recently reported in BoxingScene.com that WBC champion Jhonny Gonzalez plans on returning to the ring in March.
Gonzalez is focused on securing a rematch against former three division champion Abner Mares but says that he has a lot of options on the table.
"2015 is going to be a big year for me with big fights. I want to fight Mares again. [Nicholas] Walters would also be a great fight," said Gonzalez.
The rematch against Mares has been scheduled and talked talked about several times but injuries and other issues have prevented the fight from actually taking place. Gonzalez said that until a contract is assigned he will remain skeptical.
"I an ready to fight. I am just waiting for them to send me a contract so that we know it's actually going to happen," Gonzalez old BoxingScene.com.
