Jhonny Gonzalez reported that on Thursday he will meet with his promoter Reginaldo Kuchle in El Paso, Texas to scheduled the first defense of his WBC featherweight title. He explained that although it is possible that the proposed fight against Guty Espadas Jr. will happen on July 2 in Cancun, the likely option is becoming Panamanian boxer Roinet Caballero.
"What we need to do is define the opponent and the venue," said Gonzalez, who trains at full speed in the north of the city.
Caballero is 27 years old, born in Puerto Armuelles, Panama, and has 29 wins, 10 losses, 21 knockouts and a draw. He has been in professional boxing since 2000, but before he goes for the title he must win a bout in Panama against Manuel de los Reyes on May 27.
