Mexico's Jhonny Gonzalez, the world featherweight champion of the World Boxing Council [WBC], said "of course I am willing to give him an opportunity," when discussing a possible fight with Yuriorkis Gamboa, the former WBA/IBF champion at featherweight. Gamboa returns on September 10 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. As everyone knows, Gonzalez is scheduled to defen his title against Tomás "El Norteño" Villa, on July 9 in Atlantic City.

After his workout on Wednesday, under the supervision of trainer Ignacio Beristain, the boxer said - "[Gamboa] has proved to be a great fighter and there is sufficient merit to give him a chance. I want to clearly state that I am willing to fight, not only Gamboa, but my idea is to unify the titles with the other world champions."
