During the WBC's weekly Tuesday meeting, World Boxing Counil featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (57-8, 48KOs) expressed his interested in facing WBA champion Nonito Donaire in a unification. Donaire has a very dangerous test ahead, wen he takes on WBA 'regular' champion Nicholas Walters in unification on October 18th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

After a few more defenses at featherweight, Gonzalez plans to move up to 130-pounds. He was asked about moving up to face WBC super featherweight champion Takashi Miura of Japan. He quickly pointed out that Edgar Puerta is next up to face Miura and Adrian Estrella is also knocking on the door.

Jhonny also praised his trainer Nacho Beristain, for helping rebuild his career following the knockout loss to Toshiaki Nishioka in 2009.
