A welterweight slugfest between Jesus Soto-Karass (28-10-3, 18KOs) and Yoshihiro Kamegai (26-3-1, 23KOs) is being discussed for April 15th at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles.

Robert Diaz, the matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions advised BoxingScence.com - "Hopefully we can get it done pretty soon. A lot of fans have been asking for it, we've been talking about this for at least six months or longer and several friends have been,'yeah, that's the fight we want.''

The reaction to this possibility of this fight on social media has not gone unnoticed by Golden Boy. Soto-Karass-Kamegai would be a clash of two fan-friendly fighters who don't give an inch.

"So hopefully pretty soon we can get it done and announced," reiterated Diaz.

Soto-Karass has dabbled a bit with BKB [Big Knockout Boxing] competition and hasn't fought in a square boxing ring since June of 2014. As a boxer, he's dropped his last two -a ten round unanimous decision loss to former champion Devon Alexander and a ninth round TKO defeat at the hands of WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman.

Kamegai is 2-2 in his last four. He lost tough decisions to Robert Guerrero and Alfonso Gomez, while picking up knockout victories over Oscar Godoy and Nelson Gulpe.
