Middleweight measuring stick Jessie Nicklow was arrested earlier this month after an argument with his ex-girlfriend landed both he and the woman in legal trouble.
Nicklow, 25, is facing one count of malicious destruction of property, with the damage valued at more than $500, according to online court records.
Nicklow was arrested in Maryland on May 5 after a confrontation with an ex-girlfriend in which both of them pulled their vehicles off of a road and began to argue, an Anne Arundel County police spokesman told BoxingScene.com.
“The ex-girlfriend kicked Mr. Nicklow’s vehicle causing damage. Mr. Nicklow then kicked his ex-girlfriend’s car, causing much more damage than she caused,” spokesman Glenn Shanahan said.
Both were arrested, and the ex-girlfriend was charged with second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property (with the damage valued at less than $500), Shanahan said.
Nicklow was released on his own recognizance, according to court records.
Nicklow was last seen in the ring in December, losing via eighth-round technical knockout to Jermain Taylor in Taylor’s first comeback fight. That dropped his record to 22-3-3 with 8 knockouts, a record that also includes a stoppage loss in 2009 to Fernando Guerrero.
