Junior featherweight Jessie Magdaleno will fight Rey Perez on August 1, Top Rank announced on Thursday.

The 10 round bout will headline a Top Rank card and will take place at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Tex., a suburb of Dallas. UniMas will broadcast the fight live, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ PT.

This will be Magdaleno’s first scheduled 10 round bout. Magdaleno, who is ranked within the top five in two of the major sanctioning bodies, is the younger brother of Diego Magdaleno.

In his last bout on May 1, Magdaleno (21-0, 15 KOs) dropped Raul Hirales twice in route to a one-sided eight round decision victory in Las Vegas.

Magdaleno is promoted by Top Rank and managed by Frank Espinoza.

Perez (20-6, 5 KOs) hails from the Philippines and is coming off a fourth round knockout win over Jovill Marayan on June 2. Perez has faced and lost to the likes of Hugo Cazares, Andres Gutierrez, and Edivaldo Ortega.

In the eight round co-feature bout, junior lightweight Casey Ramos will fight Daniel Evangilista, Jr.

Ramos (19-0, 5 KOs) hails from Austin and will be fighting for the first time since November 15, when he won an eight round decision over Manuel Rey Rojas.

In his last bout on February 20, Evangelista (17-5-1, 13 KOs) was stopped by former world title holder Argenis Mendez after the sixth round in Pittsburgh, Penn. Evangelista, who resides in Mexico City, was unbeaten in his first 12 bouts, but is only 6-5 in his last 11 bouts.
