Eddie Hearn finally found a way to get Jermall Charlo’s attention.

The unbeaten two-division and reigning middleweight titlist from Houston, Texas was among the guest list for a recent unscripted Instagram Live session hosted by England’s leading promoter. It didn’t exactly end with a deal in place for a fight with fellow undefeated title claimant Demetrius Andrade or any other Matchroom Boxing client. It did, however, help provide energy for a solo workout held while also joining in for the online chat.

“Who you got?”Charlo (30-0, 22KOs) shouted while training at his personal gym, branded with his Lions Only Promotions logo in the center of the facility. “We still working, quarantine or not. Ask AlHaymon (Charlo’s career-long adviser).”

“Who’s that?” Hearn replied. “You told me you are your own boss. Lions Only!”

The clapback didn’t necessarily resonate with Charlo, who fed off a list of names offered by Hearn as he pounded away on the heavy bag. The first name offered was Providence’s Andrade (29-0, 18KOs), whom the promoter has feverishly sought to match up with Charlo though so far to no avail despite making numerous lucrative offers.

At the very least, it provided the middleweight with the opportunity to simulate a body attack on the heavy bag before feeding off of the bigger names in the division.

“Triple G (Gennadiy Golovkin). Who?” Charlo quipped as he unloaded power shots.

The mention of lineal middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (53-1-2, 36KOs) prompted a series of overhand rights from Charlo before going on about how he’s living these days. The 29-year old showed off his mansion, cars and everything else he’s collected along the way while hosting a recent live chat on the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) Facebook page.

The session was viewed by Hearn, who admittedly was taken aback by the lifestyle that Charlo enjoys.

“I have to say I was highly impressed,” noted the promoter before offering one final parting shot. “Imagine making all that money for not fighting anybody.”
