For the first time since the ten round TKO loss to Roy Jones Jr., which took place in August of 2009, former super middleweight champion Jeff Lacy (25-3, 17 KOs) will make his return to the ring on December 11 against journeyman Dhafir Smith (23-19-7, 4 KOs) at the Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Lacy, 33-years-old, appeared set on retirement in the aftermath of the loss to Jones, but he appears to be on a mission to continue his career. Lacy has never been the same fight since having surgery on his left shoulder a few years ago. Lacy suffered the injury during his rematch with Vitaly Tsypko in December 2006. Although some people would argue that Lacy has never been the same fighter since the loss to Joe Calzaghe in March of 2006.
