After beating one boxing great, Australian boxer Jeff Horn now has his sights firmly set on a bout with another imperious legend of the sport.

Following his controversial victory over Manny Pacquiao at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium, the Australian fighter called out five division world champion, Floyd Mayweather.

His optimism of a potential encounter may have been put down to the immediate euphoria of his shock victory, yet a few days down the line Horn has revisited the idea and reinforced his intentions, The Advertiser reports.

Appearing on Channel Nine's The Footy Show on Thursday night, the 29-year-old was in a defiant mood when asked which bout he would like to push through

"Probably the Mayweather fight, it's someone else and it's another legend I could beat," he said.

Horn chose to taunt Mayweather immediately after his victory at the weekend as he held aloft a pair of boxing gloves and a walking stick, questioning which one he'd prefer.

Yet the boxing world have cast doubt over a possible match up in what would be one of the biggest fights ever involving an Australian boxer.

Mayweather is currently focused on his eagerly-anticipated August 26 fight with UFC superstar Connor McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Despite Horn's sudden rise to boxing stardom, a fight against Mayweather may be a one step too far.

Horn may have to settle for a rematch against Pacquiao, especially with many boxing fans questioning the judges' decision to award Horn Sunday's fight.

"I am ready for a rematch. If he wants to come back and do it again, we will do it. That's up to him, he's got the option," Horn said.

And even though the aftermath of the fight was tainted with supporters' claims of an unfair result, Horn impressed with an empowering, aggressive display to take the fight and the WBO welterweight title by unanimous decision after 12 rounds.
