Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech is disgusted with recent reports of a rematch being reportedly negotiated for a rematch between Anthony Mundine (46-6, 27KOs) and Danny Green (33-5, 28KOs). Mundine was destroyed by Joshua Clottey in April, and Green has not fought in 18 months, when he defeated Shane Cameron for the IBO cruiserweight title. Mundine won a decision over Green in 2005.
Fenech says the weight disparity between the two fighters will make the fight "a mismatch." Green is fighting at the 200-pound limit, while Mundine last fought at 154.
“If anybody’s crazy enough to pay for it ... maybe they want to watch Anthony Mundine get knocked down again,” Fenech told Fox Sports News. “One guy’s fighting at light middleweight, another guy’s fighting at cruiserweight. It would be an injustice to the sport. It goes against everything that we’re supposed to represent. Hopefully the fight won’t go ahead.”
