Among the spectators who witnessed the fight between Artur Beterbiev and Ezequiel Maderna at the Bell Centre on Saturday night, was former WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal.

The former titleholder has been laying low since his rematch with IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight king Sergey Kovalev, which took place on the 30th of January in Canada. Pascal took a bad beating in the fight and the contest was eventually stopped by trainer Freddie Roach.

Pascal is now ready to regroup and get right back in the hunt for a world title. There is no exact time scheduled for his next fight, but he wants to return before he end of the year.

Pascal (30-4-1, 17 KOs) explained to La Presse - "[The time off,] it did me good. Now I'm ready to start the machine. I'm only waiting to see what the next steps will be. Meanwhile, I'm spend a lot of time with my daughter Angel.  Of course I'm a winner. I do not like to lose, and I lost. I need to rebuild my confidence. I will resume training. It's not how many times you fall, what's important is the number of times you get back up. I plan to still get up again."

Pascal is not shying away from anyone. He says he is ready to face any to face any of the top names in his weight division.

"My goal has not changed. I'm always ready to test myself against the best. If the phone rings, you can be sure I'll answer," Pascal said.
