Promoter Yvon Michel advised BoxingScene.com that former champion Jean Pascal (27--2-1, 16KOs) was taken to the hospital with a minor spell of food poisoning. Michel indicates the situation is not serious and his fighter will be fine. Pascal is scheduled to face his Canadian rival Lucian Bute (31-1, 24KOs), likely on December 7th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, and with HBO televising. If December 7th does not come off, Pascal-Bute has an alternative date in January.
"It was something he ate. He wasn't feeling well. It was food poisoning, but he will be fine," Michel told BoxingScene.com.
