Once again, former world champion Jean Pascal (31-4-1, 18KOs) is a free agent after parting ways with InterBox, which is now owned by Camille Estephan, who also operates Eye of The Tiger Management.

Pascal had just fought for InterBox on December 16th with a knockout of Ricardo Ramallo. It was Pascal's first fight since the stoppage loss in his rematch with Sergey Kovalev in January of this year.

There is now some rumblings of Pascal reuniting with the company that promoted the majority of his career, Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM). But Yvon Michel, while not ruling out that possibility, doubts it will happen given the fact that they have experienced their share of disputes in the past and were rarely on the same page in their final year of working together.

According to RDS, the fallout with InterBox may have been fueled in part to Estephan's refusal to endorse a second fight between Pascal and Lucian Bute.

"It is one thing to try to organize a fight between Pascal and Bute and it is another thing to agree on the terms of a long-term contract," Michel said to RDS.

"We must have the same ambitions and look in the same direction. We have to do this with great pleasure and a lot of cordiality. It is certain that I will never conclude an agreement with anyone if they are to cause chicanery and annoyances. If we can help by having fun, I'll look at it with interest. We have already gone a long way together, it was pleasant, but in the end we were worn out, it was difficult, and we no longer spoke the same language. But who knows now? We'll see."

"Pascal is a celebrity and he will have no difficulty finding a promoter to work with him. There will always be someone who will want to offer him a fight against one of his guys hoping that he will win and then use the notoriety of Pascal.

"Otherwise, a boxer like [WBA regular champion] Nathan Cleverly could be within his reach. It would not be impossible for Pascal to be invited by Andre Ward. There are many interesting things to potentially do with him. But it will depend on his vision. "
