Caguas, P.R. – Top prospect and undefeated featherweight sensation Jayson "La Maravilla" Vélez (17- 0, 13 KOs) is ready to face the biggest challenge of his career this Saturday, March 24th, at the Roger Mendoza Coliseum. As part of the event "Boxeo Boricua In Caguas: It's My Time", Velez faces dangerous veteran Jose Angel Beranza (34-22-2,26 KOs) in a 10-round bout. Jayson Vélez is coming off a convincing fifth round KO against Mexico's Jonathan "El Diamante" Arias.
Immersed in the final part of his preparation, Jayson said that he is in a great physical condition to face Beranza, who has been characterized by providing exciting fights, even seizing important undefeated prospects like Christopher Martin, Juan Carlos Velázquez and Jesús Rojas .
"This fight motivates me even more because I know good things are coming for my career. I am 110% prepared and ready for the big names in my division. I will defeat Beranza", commented an excited Jayson Vélez.
Meanwhile, his opponent expressed to feel ready to put a # 1 to loss column on the record of Jayson and thwart his dreams.
"I'm going to Puerto Rico to beat the one called “La Maravilla". I came very well prepared for this fight. And I will beat him in his hometown," reiterated the veteran Jose Angel Beranza.
Vélez vs. Beranza will be the headliner of the famous TV series "Solo Boxeo Tecate" which airs on Telefutura.
"This fight once again revives the classic battle between Puerto Rico vs. Mexico, and certainly we know that Jayson is ready for this challenge", stated the World Super Welterweight champion and promoter Miguel Cotto.
Also, promoter and entrepeneur, Héctor Soto coincided with the importance of the challenge that Beranza provides for "La Maravilla" Vélez.

Also in action a highly expected bantamweight rematch between Jonathan Vidal (14-0, 8KB's) vs. Felix Perez (7-3, 3KO's).
