The referee for the Sept. 14 junior-middleweight title fight between Ishe Smith and Carlos Molina at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas will be Jay Nady.
Nady was selected at the Sept. 4 meeting of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
The judges, meanwhile, will be Adalaide Byrd and Burt Clements of Nevada, and Barry Druxman of California.
There were no objections to these names from either fighter’s camp.
Nady has been the referee for two of Smith’s previous fights, according to BoxRec.com. That website shows Nady as being the ref for his Smith’s 2009 decision win over Chris Gray and his 2001 decision win over Norberto Bravo. He is not listed as having worked any of Molina’s fights.
Byrd was a judge for Smith’s stoppage win of Ayi Bruce in 2012, according to BoxRec.com. She is not listed as having worked any of Molina’s bouts. Druxman was one of three judges to see Smith on the short end of a 2008 decision loss to Joel Julio, scoring that bout96-94 for Julio. Druxman also judged one of Molina’s fights, with a 98-92 scorecard for Molina’s win over Cedrick Armstrong in 2008. Clements has not been a referee for either of their bouts.
