Jarrod "Left Jab" Fletcher claimed his 14th victory at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre last Friday with an impressive performance against former PABA and WBF world champion, Kiatchai Singwancha (32-8). The fight offering all fans present a glimpse of real boxing talent on what was ultimately a controversial night in Australian boxing.

Currently ranked seventh in the WBA World Rankings, Fletcher won the first six rounds before delivering a barrage of unanswered punches and trapping his highly experienced opponent on the ropes with 46 seconds left in the seventh round when the referee called an end to the fight.

Gracious and modest as usual, Fletcher said he was simply happy to have another win under his belt. "Singwancha is a tough opponent who has a world of experience so I knew I’d have to showcase my best boxing skills in the early rounds to take him into deep water and win the fight," said Fletcher.

“Winning my first fight of 2013 with a KO win is definitely a great way to start the year.”

The win moves Fletcher’s career record to 14-1, with back-to-back wins over highly credentialed opponents.

Next up for ‘Left Jab’ is a PABA Middleweight title defense against another experienced opponent in Randy Suico (31-8-1). Hailing from the Philippines, Suico brings heavy hands and an impressive fight resume into the fight with 26 KO’s from his 31 wins. Suico is well known not just for an explosive KO career, but also his WBA world title fight with Juan Diaz and long reign as OPBF title holder. Manager Adam Wilcock said “We are very pleased with both the win over Singwancha and to announce Randy Suico as the next opponent for Fletcher. Ensuring that Jarrod fights only the best available boxers is important to where we have him placed right now. We have a number of overseas offers on the table which is flattering, highlighting that Jarrod is now being recognized as a world class talent. Suico is dangerous, experienced and will be a big test.”

Fletcher’s impressive career now includes two PABA middleweight titles, the Australian middle weight title, a Commonwealth Games Olympic Gold medal, plus Olympic representation. But for Fletcher it’s only the beginning, “I’ll fight anyone, any time. I have a strong and supportive team around me which makes it easier as all I need to concentrate on is training hard then putting it all together in the ring.”
