Jarrod "Left jab" Fletcher arrived in Perth with a point to prove, not only to the boxing world but more importantly to himself. He left having reclaimed the PABA Middleweight title in dominant fashion.

Going into the fight, hometown Robbie ‘Bad boy’ Bryant was rated # 7 in the world by the WBA, and was openly talking about setting himself for a World title shot in 2013. The fight proved to be a real pre-Christmas treat for the Perth crowd, as the two boxers both gave everything throughout twelve gruelling rounds. All the rounds were close to score but with quick hands and world-class footwork Jarrod Fletcher’s class gave him a clear verdict on the judges’ scorecards (119-109, 119-109, 117-111).

With a previous record of 17-1, Bryant’s only previous loss came against World title challenger Frank LoPorto. Taking this form line FightCard Promotions are very buoyant and confident that we can now set Jarrod Fletcher on a World title pathway for 2013. This is a thought shared by not only many in Australia but also promoters in USA who are keen to showcase one of Australia’s most prized assets. Fletcher and his management copped much scrutiny from their Australian peers after traveling to London to face Billy Joe Saunders for the Commonwealth title. After what many called a premature stoppage, the Commonwealth games gold medallist, Beijing Olympian and Australian champion was handed his first loss.

Like a true champion Fletcher copped it on the chin and used it as motivation to move forward with his career. This latest win takes his record to 13-1 whilst also reclaiming the PABA that he previously relinquished through injury.

Fights against well-credentialed opponents, current champions and doing so in their own cities, throughout 2012 Jarrod Fletcher has proven that he is willing to take on anyone, anywhere, anytime. Whilst fighting away from his native Brisbane in Melbourne, London and Perth, ‘Left Jab’ is now beginning to build and develop an avid fan base all over Australia. Having claimed both Australian and PABA titles in 2012 it’s been a big year for the Queenslander. Against a tough and seasoned Robbie Bryant, Jarrod Fletcher bounced back like the true champion he is, and in 2013 is ready to make his mark on the world stage in what is a very deep and talented middleweight division.
