By defeating veteran Fred Kassi last Friday in Rochester, New York as the headliner on ShoBox, Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller improved to 18-0-1 (16 KO's).
Greg Cohen, who co-promotes the brash native of Brooklyn with Dmitry Salita, is now hoping to position him for a title shot or a significant fight.
"The heavyweight division is a little bit of a log-jam, it's a little harder to get that title shot, right now," Cohen told BoxingScene.com, referring to the on-going situation between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko (who have yet to announce their rematch for the fall) and the current status of Deontay Wilder, who is out the rest of the year with injuries.
"Look, Fred Kassi was a big step up for (Jarrell) and he did to Kassi what other top contenders weren't able to do and get him out of there in three rounds Jarrell wants to fight every world champion today. He feels he's ready, I feel he's ready, Dmitry feels he's ready, his whole team believes he's ready. It's just a matter of getting that opportunity and convincing the opponents on the other side to fight Jarrell,"bcontinued Cohen.
"Not a lot of guys want to fight Jarrell. He's got skill, he's strong, he can box, he's a beast. Jarrell holds a couple of regional titles. He's the NABO champion in the WBO, he's the NABA champion in the WBA. He's rated in the top ten in the WBA, IBF and WBO," pointed out Cohen.
"So we are looking for him to fight before the end of the year in an eliminator or world title shot and I don't think there's a heavyweight in the world that I wouldn't be confident putting Jarrell in with."
