At the Wembley Indoor Arena in Johannesburg, South Africa, welterweight Jan Zaveck (28-1, 16KOs) shocked the entire crowd by dominating and knocking out Isaac Hlatshwayo (29-2, 10KOs) in three rounds to capture the IBF welterweight title.
According to multiple reports, Zaveck dropped Hlatshwayo in round one, round two and again in round three, and battered him, to force the stoppage. Zavek's only loss came at the hands of Rafal Jackiewicz by split decision nearly a year ago. This was Hlatshwayo's first defense of the title he won by way of a close points decision over Delvin Rodriguez back in August.
