Jamie Conlan is on the verge of a world title fight.
The Belfast super-flyweight (18-0, 11 KOs) took care of a routine assignment ahead of a world title eliminator.
Conlan, 30, has a final eliminator scheduled for the early part of 2017, which his promoter Frank Warrren secured at the recent World Boxing Organisation convention in Miami.
And the WBO Inter-Continental champion was tasked with brushing aside David Koos of Hungary (now 8-3-1, 2 KOs) at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, exclusively live on BoxNation, before he could begin to travel down that path.
It was pretty routine, the clash, with Conlan advancing his record to the above mark against surprise package Koos, who didn’t just come to lay down but instead gave it a good go.
However, it wasn’t quite enough and Conlan, who was implementing the majority of the advice handed down to him by head trainer Danny Vaughan, cruised to the final bell before the referee passed in a convincing tally of 80-72 in favour of the hometown man.
