James Metcalf will face a different opponent in his next fight.

Metcalf (13-0, 6 KOs) was originally set to come up against Bradley Pryce, the Welsh veteran, over eight rounds on October 7 at Greenbank Sports Academy.

Their clash was the headline act on MGM Liverpool’s inaugural show.

However, Metcalf will not box Pryce on the card after he withdrew from the contest.

‘Sugar Sweet’, 35, scored a somewhat surprise third round stoppage win over Justin Menzie last weekend and will now rematch the formerly unbeaten prospect in November instead of facing Metcalf.

‘Kid Shamrock’ will still headline the bill but will now come up against Serge Ambomo (5-0, 2 KOs).

The Sheffield-based Cameroonian represented his country at the 2012 Olympics before absconding from the Athletes' Village following his opening round defeat and staying in Britain.

He was involved in an ill-fated clash, which was a rematch, against Jerome Wilson back in September, 2014, after which Wilson was forced to retire from the sport following the suffering of a bleed.

Ambomo, 30, took a break from boxing after that fight and returned earlier this month with a points win over four rounds against Edvinas Puplauskas at the Doncaster Dome.

The Liverpool show already features former British middleweight title challenger Tom Doran and the debut of Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Sam Maxwell.

New MGM signings Phil Sutcliffe Jr., Ryan Moorhead and John Quigley will all see action, while Tommy Carus, Ged Carroll, Brandon Daord and Steven Lewis complete the line-up.
