BoxingScene.com recently reported that junior middleweight contender James Kirkland (32-1, 28KOs) believes that the issues that have kept him out of the ring for nearly a year will be resolved in the next month or so.
When the Texan steps in the ring again he said that despite the long layoff he wants to go straight to a big fight. He feels that he performs better when he faces tougher opposition and said that he is not interested in a tune up fight.
"I feel at this particular time when they bring a high class fighter to me, I go off of their eagerness. Not just my training but my level of fighting goes up. Anybody and everybody they said I couldn't beat, I beat them. I want to go straight to the muscle man. No tuneups," Kirkland told Boxingscene.com.
