James DeGale has added European super-middleweight champion Brian Magee to his Christmas wish list.

DeGale scooped the British title last weekend, stopping Paul Smith in the ninth round.

And despite having had just his ninth pro fight, DeGale is keen to move on swiftly.

He admits that one man he would relish facing is former IBO world title holder Magee, who has lost just three times in 38 fights.

"Now I've got the British, I've got to think about where I could go next, and Magee is one man I would like to fight," said DeGale.

"People said I would not have enough experience to fight Paul Smith, but I went in there and proved I can fight long distances.

"Magee is on the verge of a world title shot, so who knows if he would want to fight me.

"But if he wanted it, I would say yes straight away."
