Camden’s Jamar Talley scored a statement win in his second Olympic world qualification tournament with a first-round stoppage of Iran’s Ali Faithigovashini in Thailand.
“I am just thankful for another opportunity to qualify for Paris. All glory to God and I am thankful for my team and coaches and on to the next one,” Talley said.
Robby Gonzales (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Naomi Grahahm (Fayetteville, N.C.) also fought on Monday (May 27). Graham was the first Team USA boxer to go this morning as she fought hard but fell short 4-1 to Vivlane Pereira from Brazil.
