BoxingScene.com recently made a guest appearance on an edition of the hit podcast ATG Radio.  One of the fighters to appear on the show was welterweight contender Jamal James (22-1, 10 KOs) whom we spoke to about many topics including the come back of Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs).

The former super lightweight champion recently made headlines when he signed a three-fight agreement with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing.  At the press conference to announce the signing, Hearn stated that Khan will return to the ring on April 21st in Liverpool.

The fight will be Khan's first since his crushing knockout loss to Canelo in May of 2016.  It will also be the first time he has fought in the United Kingdom since he defeated in Julio Diaz in 2013.

Hearn also stated that he sent a list of potential opponents to Khan's trainer Virgil Hunter to see what fight the trainer best known for working with Andre Ward prefers for Khan's comeback fight.

When asked if he would like to add his name to the list of potential opponents, James didn't hesitate.

"You know me, I definitely think I am going to take that fight (if it is offered) but I know Amir Khan is no push over. I think my height and speed presents problems for anyone. I am working my ass off and like I said before if the business is right, I will definitely fight Amir Khan," James stated.

If the fight were to come to fruition, James wouldn't mind imitating the success his fellow Minnesotan Caleb Truax had when he traveled to the UK as a heavy underdog and dethroned heavy favorite James DeGale in their IBF super middleweight clash in December. James hopes that fighters such as Truax and himself help put Minnesota on the map as a great boxing state.

"Truax is my guy. He went in there and did a great job, pulled out a great upset. I had the opportunity to spar with him and help him out when he got get ready for Danny Jacobs a while back. It motivated me more when I heard he won. It helps Minnesota when it comes to that stigma about boxing - that it is a place where guys go to build up their records.  There is a lot of talent here but the guys here never got a chance to shine," James explained.
