New York, New York- Come December 5th, whatever Brooklyn love there was between Danny Jacobs and Peter Quillin will go out the window. It appears the love was dropped at their press conference earlier this as Jacobs respectfully downplayed their friendship.

The two will battle for the WBA's "regular" middleweight championship in a Showtime televised main event from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

“What do you consider friends? We’re associates,” Jacobs told BoxingScene.com. “We’re not guys that hang outside the world of boxing. But I have respect for him and he’s a really cool guy. I have much respect for him. I’m looking forward to our fight. I can’t think of friendship in the ring because I have to win and take it to the next level.

Jacobs fully expects an in shape 110% ready Peter Quillin and he expects Quillin to make the 160 pound limit as well.

“He made weight his last fight,” Jacobs said. “I think Peter Quillin, knowing him as a fighter, I think he’ll get up for this fight and he’ll be 110 percent ready. I think it’s an interesting matchup.

Quillin made an odd statement in his last bout where he said on national television that he would eat Danny Jacob’s chocolate. Quillin’s nickname is Kid Chocolate. Though Jacobs wouldn’t comment much on Quillin’s statement, he came up with a nickname of his own.

“I never understood what that meant nor do I want to find out. I haven’t had chocolate in a very long time and I’m looking forward to being the cookie monster December 5th.”
