Brooklyn, New York - Sergio Mora has never been stopped in his career. That’s something Danny Jacobs' trainer Andre Rozier is looking to change Saturday night when the two square off on Saturday night at the Barclays Center. The middleweight title fight will be televised by Premier Boxing Champions.
“We’re not looking for a decision,” Rozier told BoxingScene.com. “I’m looking for the Sergio Mora that will try and stay out of harm’s way. He’s going to move and not engage. There’s just too much fire power that Danny brings and we’re going to see the Mora that holds and stinks out the joint but we’re definitely aiming to stop him.”
Should Jacobs be victorious, Rozier sees a potential showdown with another Brooklyn Middleweight in Peter Quillin.
“I’m always looking forward to Danny fighting the legitimate contenders in the middleweight division. So with Peter Quillin, yes I’m looking forward to preparing Danny for that fight and it should happen real soon.”
Rozier even says he wants Jacobs to fight Gennady Golovkin down the road as well.
“I would love to test Danny Jacobs’ skills against a Triple G,” said the trainer. “I think Danny (Jacobs) has the wherewithal and skillfulness and athleticism not only to give him problems but enough fire power to keep him honest and he’ll fight. Unfortunately the powers that be seem to keep these prohibited events from happening. But I would love for Danny to fight a Triple G.”
