Although the fight between Mexican stars Jackie Nava and Mariana Juarez was projected for May 9 in Mexico, due to the health contingency that the world is going through with respect to the coronavirus, it could be postponed.

In a telephone conversation with the Mexican newspaper ESTO, Jackie Nava commented: "I view it as being difficult for this date to be maintained and despite the fact that the promoters have not commented on a postponement, I believe the best thing to do would be to reschedule it.

Despite everything, her current training plan is focused on May 9 - in the event the contest moves forward. She has already visualized the adjustments she would make to the ongoing preparation.

“We know that if the fight is officially postponed we should adjust the preparation, and there would be time to even get better," Nava said.

Regarding the work she does in the gym, Nava commented that she's never experienced a situation like the one that currently exists.

“I have to go to the gym in the afternoons, but there is hardly anyone there anymore, it's just me and my team during that time of time and we try to have as little contact as possible. I have never experienced anything like this, but right now health is the most important thing," Nava said.
