Veracruz, Mexico - Jackie Nava of Tijuana (24-3-3, 11KOs) gave a great fight at the World Trade Center of Boca del Rio, Veracruz, and it was enough to convince the judges to score the showdown with Ana Maria Torres (24-3-3, 14KOs) a draw after ten rounds. Nearly ten thousand people came to see their anticipated fight, which Zanfer Promotions and HG Boxing put together to crown the best Mexican female fighter of all time. All three judges scored it 95-95 on the cards. Many of the rounds were close and both had their moments. The crowd was not happy with the decision.
Katya Gutierrez won the IBF's strawweight title with a ten round unanimous decision over Hollie Dunaway of the United States. The scores were 97-93, 99-91 and 98-92. Gutierrez was close to knocking Dunaway out in the late rounds, but she held on until the final bell.
