Jimrex Jaca scored a 6th round TKO over Korea’s rugged Jong Yoon Choi in a ten round bout in Zamboanga City in a card headlined by former two division world champion Gerry Penalosa in his farewell fight.

Dennis Canete, vice president  of ALA Promotions told the Inquirer from ringside that it was “a tough fight and the Korean was strong” but that the southpaw Jaca proved too good.

It was Jaca’s fourth successive win since moving over to the ALA Gym following his 2nd round TKO loss to undefeated, hard-hitting Thai Saddam Kietyongyuth who has a record of 20-0 with 16 knockouts.

Coincidentally, Saddam also scored a 2nd round TKO over Jong last January 16.

Jaca who improved his record to 32-6-3 with 17 knockouts won by a sensational 1st round knockout over the highly touted Pipino Cuevas Jr, son of the legendary Mexican welterweight champion Pipino Cuevas, last August 28 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu.

Jong Yoon Choi dropped to 6-2 with 2 knockouts.
